Steampunk City: Juggler on Stilts

We - donned in our military jackets bedecked with war and bravery medals, our caps and top hats supporting our utility goggles, our boots and our belts and our pouches, and so too our fingerless gloves - took an excursion to a Steampunk Festival in the city of Waltham, known for its proficient watch-making industry. Along with me, I towed my brownie and camera oscura, and acquired some decent portraits of others attending the festivities (ie, I took my DSLR with me and utilized my telephoto lens for the first time since December).

In the park, this elegant circus-performing lady circuited the pavement on stilts, with a long billowing crimson and white skirt which covered the monstrosities on which she so skillfully balanced with an ease that befuddled me. She informed me that, on regularity, she juggled burning torches, but that she had had to accommodate for the number of low-hanging tree branches overhead in the park by waving silky flame-like fans in their stead.
